Many parents, grandparents, and godparents would like to share their Christian faith with the treasured children in their lives, but they are hampered by distance. LuvYa Reader lets you record children's books and devotions and share them anywhere in the world. It's a great way to stay connected from far away.
Available for download via the iTunes App Store - iPad
LuvYa Reader is a set of two apps developed by Barcelona Media for the iPad. One app - LuvYa Reader Recorder - is for the recorder of the story, and the other - LuvYa Reader Listener - is for the listener. Both apps are free to download with a few stories to try. Additional titles are available in the Book Shop, which is found in the Recorder app. There are books intended for different age groups (0-3, 2-4,3-5,4-6,5-7) as well as a wide range of religious themes, including Christmas (hint, hint), creation, faith, forgiveness, peace, and protection from harm. Currently, the Book Store has 80 titles, but it is anticipated to grow substantially in the next year.

How the App Works-
After downloading the recorder app, you need to sign up; this is done by providing an email address and your name. Once that's complete, you can select a title and start recording. When you have finished, listen to the recording to make sure it recorded correctly, and then send it to your loved ones.
In order to receive a recorded book or devotion, the recipient needs to download the LuvYa Reader Listener app (also free). Then, after logging in with information supplied in an email notification, he/she finds the title and taps on it. The story, with its inspirational message, is presented in your voice.
What Fun Educational Apps Liked-
The first time I recorded one of the titles on the bookshelf, I followed the text very carefully. The next time, I decided to be a little more creative, using some sound effects and adding more personalization to the story. It depends on your personal preference, but either way, the result is a one-of-a-kind keepsake.
I like the concept of using digital devotions and stories with personalized narration. The titles remind me of a classic book my mother read to me as a child, called "Little Visits with God." It is possible to preview each title before you purchase it, making sure it fits your needs. All the stories contain colorful, age appropriate illustrations.
In a Nutshell-
Luv Ya Reader is a way to share Christian children's books, devotions, and prayers with nieces and nephews, grandchildren and godchildren. What makes it special is that the stories are recorded in the voice of the sender, making it a treasured and unique gift.
