Children can learn to be responsible if (1) they have clear expectations and (2) they are motivated to comply. Behavior World offers step-by-step instructions on how to set up and customize a behavior management system for your children that can be accessed from your tablet or your Smartphone.
Available for download via the iTunes App Store - iOS Universal
Behavior World was developed by Helping Hand Systems, LLC, as a way to encourage children to do chores and self-care activities without constant reminders. It is available for iOS devices. The app is free to try with limited content; adding more than one child or increasing the choices of buddies and backgrounds requires different in-app purchases (IAP): multi-user (for more than one child), buddies(aliens, superheroes, animals), and themes (deserted island, space, underwater, castle, forest).

How the App Works-
The app guides you through the set up process. The first step is to create each child’s profile, including their name and their “buddy.” A buddy is a character of their choice that identifies them. The next step is to pick three behaviors that will be monitored; these behaviors include self-care, household chores, and homework completion. It is also possible to add other behaviors using a “custom” feature, up to a total of three behaviors. After that you will choose a reward that will be earned. It might be staying up late, going out to eat, time with dad, etc.
Using Behavior World is easy. As soon as the child has completed the activity, he is awarded a buddy token. The app records the tokens on a buddy chart so your child can see how far it is until the reward. Parent controls can be put into place that will prevent children from tampering with the rewards and levels. The app will also send timed reminders to your Smartphone if you wish.
What Fun Educational Apps Liked-
What I like about Behavior World is that it has some really nice customization features, but the app itself is not overly complicated to use. The in-app purchases add a lot of value, and I would recommend getting them.
The developer indicates the app could be adapted into a classroom setting, but I think it would be difficult to use with an entire class because of the way it is set up for individual students. There are other types of behavior management systems (like Class Dojo) that are intended for use with an entire class.
In a Nutshell-
Easy to set up and easy to use, Behavior World is a simple way to motivate young children to improve their behavior. The basic set-up is limited, but with the in-app purchases, there are lots of options to help parents to make the app “kid friendly”. Think of it as a job chart that you keep on your smart phone.

At the time of the review, Behavior World does not include third party ads. It is a web-based app, so an Internet connection is necessary. Also, the developer collects information based on usage, so for example, they would know your child’s name and your email address. There is a complete Privacy Statement in the Information section of the app. It's always a good idea to read the privacy statement.
