Through extensive research, AdapTac Games - the developers of ADHD Skills Booster Tween - have created an app for tweens to help improve focus and concentration. On the surface, the app looks like a racing game. However, internal algorithms actually track and monitor students attention.

Have a Look:
How the App Works-
ADHD Skills Booster Tween has two different areas. To begin with, players must study and learn the different parts of the race cars. Players study the stats for different cars and five different components: cockpits, engines, frames, tires, and weapons. Each component has strengths and weaknesses and players must memorize and analyze each component to build the best car.
Users must also study the mechanics, the drivers, and the security personnel. Each available character also has his or her own strengths and weaknesses, and players must build the perfect team.
After studying the stats on each of the cars and drivers, players must then select the parts from the warehouse that they think will build the best car. Utilizing joystick like touch control, players collect their materials and attempt to get the pieces before the other teams.
The app itself assesses how players plan and execute this task. A percentage score for attention, task, strategy, and recall is provided at the end of the building session.
Next comes the racing component. Drivers navigate the twisty track by utilizing a steering wheel on the left with one thumb and a brake with built-in reverse button and gas pedal on the right. The fire button on the right also launches weapons at opposing racers. After rounding the track three times, the race is over.
Players are given a percentage score that shows how well they planned, executed and paid attention to the race.
What Fun Educational Apps Liked
ADHD Skills Booster Tween is a great app. To begin with it plays just like any other racing game, but gives users and their parents information on how well they attend to task. It's a unique way of measuring something that is typically only measured in a school setting.
The driving is difficult and something that can only be improved through practice. Adding the component of studying the race car parts and building your own racer adds a different level for attention and concentration. It's an extremely clever way of measuring these skills. But the bottom line is, this app is just fun.
I had a hard time tearing it away from my son in order to write this review. I like the four different areas that the app measures. I also like that you can view your percentages for the race, or an average of your percentages.
The only thing I would like to see is some way of accessing a record of your percentages so that you can better see growth through the use of this app.
In a Nutshell-
Overall, ADHD Skills Booster Tween, is simply a great app. To me, it is unique in the field. It is very engaging and perfectly appropriate for children ranging in age from 8 to 14.
