App for iOS - iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch
Crazy Mad House was developed by Duo Sports, Inc. It is currently available for IOS devices only (iPhone, iPad, and iPad touch), but it will soon be available for Android devices as well. All of the illustrations are hand drawn, giving the app a casual, kid-friendly look. The best way to begin is to open the front door and start looking around. Nearly every object on the screen is animated.
How the App Works-
This house may seem ordinary at first, but your child will soon find lots of things that definitely are not typical. There are six different rooms/places to check out, including the front yard, the tree house, the kitchen, the living room, the stairway and the basement. To get from one room to another, all you need to do is tap on the door or the rug that is in the direction you want to go. As you wander throughout each space, you begin to find unexpected things happening everywhere.
Take the front yard, for example. The street light turns on and off, the car starts, the dog barks, the mailbox opens, the doorbell rings, the hose turns on, the garbage can opens, the satellite dish swivels, the garage door raises, and a plane flies by. For an added challenge, see how many things you can get going all at once.
What Fun Educational Apps Liked-
Peek-a-Boo, hide and seek, and Easter Egg hunts. The one thing that all of these preschool favorites have in common is looking for things that are hidden. Crazy Mad House uses this same fascination with finding things, and provides plenty of entertaining choices. With over 90 animations, there's lots to look for, and best of all, each animation includes a wacky sound effect. My favorite animations are the break dancing fish, the haunted ice maker, the cuckoo clock, the raccoon washing dishes, and the magician's hat.
Duo Sports, Inc. has plans to add other titles, based on the same concept; watch for Crazy Mad Zoo, Crazy Mad Haunted House, and Silly Fun Fairy Tales.
In a Nutshell-
Crazy Mad House offers toddlers a simple way to entertain themselves by finding hidden animations all over the screen. There are no points to score or text to read or directions to follow, so even the youngest users can play with the app independently.
