We just love this one! It is a great example of a developer that knows how to mix education and game play! Teachley: Mt. Multiplis offers a unique concept for kids to understand and work out multiplications via a great game interface that teaches multiplication through commutative and distributive properties.

The game starts when Linka, a pilot, get caught in a terrible storm and crashes her plane on Mt. Multiplis. She escape safely but now needs to get all the pieces of her plane to rebuild it and fly back home. To do so, she needs your kids multiplication skills to navigate through Mt. Multiplis to build bridges, unlock treasures and earn gems to exchange for part of her plane. The game is just more than just math facts, it promotes conceptual understanding, efficiency with multiplication strategies, and fact fluency.
Common Core Aligned
Mt. Multiplis addresses several Operations and Algebraic Thinking standards, including 3.OA.B.5. Apply properties of operations as strategies to multiply:
Commutative property of multiplication
If 6 × 4 = 24 is known, then 4 × 6 = 24 is also known.
Associative property of multiplication
3 × 5 × 2 can be found by 3 × 5 = 15, then 15 × 2 = 30, or by 5 × 2 = 10, then 3 × 10 = 30.
Distributive property
Knowing that 8 × 5 = 40 and 8 × 2 = 16, one can find 8 × 7 as 8 × (5 + 2) = (8 × 5) + (8 × 2) = 40 + 16 = 56.
