If you have a toddler or preschooler, just learning how to navigate the wonderful world of iPad, 1000 Adventures is a good place to start. This interactive story leads children through the world of make-believe in this tapping adventure.
1000 Adventures by DADA Company could be classified as a story, but is more of an experience. Join a young boy as he leads you through his daily routine, showing you how even the ordinary becomes a grand adventure. From waking up his parents, to eating lunch, to taking a bath, even the mundane day-to-day activities become adventures in his imagination.
Have a look:
The day begins in his parent's bedroom, which turns into a wild jungle with the help of the player. A number in the top corner tells how many taps it will take to change the normal bedroom scene into a steamy, animal-filled jungle. Users must tap parts of the scene to change them to jungle animals, plants, and backdrops. A pair of slippers become fish, and mom becomes a monkey.
After waking in the jungle, join the young boy as he dresses for the day. Though after tapping 7 times, players learn that his closet is actually filled with superhero paraphernalia! Players experience a futuristic ride to school, a prehistoric classroom, an alien luncheon, an Egyptian cleaning session, a castle to defend at the park, a scientist's lab, the Wild West, a pirate's adventure at bath time, and a night time monster's lair. Every minute of this boy's day is an adventure in fantasy.
What Fun Educational Apps Liked
This is a great app for toddlers and preschoolers. The tap to experience style doesn't involve too much skill. Simple tapping reveals the changes from the normal scene to the adventure. The scenes are detailed and clever. They are definitely engaging for young children. I really appreciated the wide selection of adventures that hit all the big fantasy lands. There is a scene for everyone. I also liked the small touch at the end of the story, where instead of changing his bedroom into a monster's lair, players had to change the monsters back into his bedroom. The variety of different sound tracks were nice, and the narration was great for non-readers.
Overall, 1000 Adventures is a great app for young children just learning how to navigate the digital world. The easy tap-to-change interface is perfect for eager fingers and the imaginative themes will definitely engage your child.
