Save the world and memorize your geography, all at the same time. The Crapoks, a humorous bunch of alien beings coming to conquer planet Earth, are looking to study our world, in hopes of dominating it. Quiz yourself with Crapoks: Geo Atlas on the countries, flags, capitals, and monuments of the world in this fun geography game.
Crapoks: Geo Atlas by Pinpin Team - maker of Crapoks : Maths & Memo - is a fun way to practice Geography. At the time of this review, the first three levels, of a total 36, are free to try before unlocking the rest in a single in-app purchase. Move through each level and explore the world by completing a bunch of different tasks based on world geography. There are three main game modes: a precision pin drop, a drag and drop, and a quiz.
In the precision pin drop, players are given a country and asked to drop a pin in its location. Zoom in for better aim. The app gives you credit if you get the right country, and tells you how far off you are if you miss. In the drag and drop, users must drag names of capitals, images of monuments or mountains, or flags to designated spots on the map. In the quiz, players are given a flag + city + monument equation to equal a given country.
Each level has different tasks to complete; some based on the whole world, others more specific to regions of the world. Interspersed in the geography levels are a few minor games just for fun: a baseball game, a follow the pattern game, and Ole Toro. These are just for fun, and happen automatically.
What Fun Educational Apps Liked
Let's face it, memorizing countries and capitals can get monotonous. This app makes it a fun game. I was a big fan of the precision pin drop, as I like to challenge my husband in world geography. With 182 countries and capitals, there were many we (shamefully admit) got wrong. Adding the flags and monuments gives players that extra information and breaks up the mundane name game. I liked how the app switched between the world view and regional views. This also kept the game ever-changing so that I didn't get bored. I'll admit to getting a little bit sucked into this one as I tried to prove how much I know about geography. The premise is simple, but the game is great. I really enjoyed this geography app.
Overall, Crapoks: Geo Atlas is a great geography app that gives players several ways to explore the world. The different activities keep children (and adults) engaged and shooting for the elusive three star rounds.
