Choices, choices, choices. There are many apps that have been developed to teach children the alphabet. Each one uses a special theme for selecting words and pictures to highlight the letters. ABC: Animal Alphabet pairs each letter with a unique animal character that exhibits very human traits. Touching the animals bring them to life in unexpected and comical ways that are sure to entertain both you and your child.

ABC: Animal Alphabet was developed by Yabra Ltd. for the iPad. Designed to appeal to young children (ages 2-6), the user interface here is highly intuitive. All that is required is to touch the animal, and the animation activates. It might be a bear licking an ice cream cone, an iguana brushing its teeth, a mouse roller skating, or a newt kicking a golf ball. Some letters (x, v, and u, for example) required a bit of searching to identify a good representative from the animal kingdom, but in the end, the developer settled on the vole, the xerus (a striped African ground squirrel), and the unicorn.
As you can see, some of the animals in ABC: Animal Alphabet are not well-known, so the app has the added bonus of providing vocabulary development as well. Each animation can be repeated as often as the child wants; once he is finished, he can advance to the next letter by touching the arrow on the right side of the screen. There is also a paw print in the upper right corner that takes you to a page containing the entire alphabet, so it is possible to practice the letters in any order. From this page, it is also possible to adjust the settings for background music, sound effects, and voice.
What Fun Educational Apps Liked-
There are some very specific criteria I look for in an alphabet app. First of all, it must be easy to use, with only one or two actions on each page. Second, it must present the letters and animals cleanly and simply, so that the child doesn’t become confused. Third, the voice must be clear when pronouncing the letter and the animal. ABC: Animal Alphabet meets these expectations for technical quality and graphic design. The characters are interesting and not babyish, so it well-suited for somewhat older children who are still learning the alphabet. There are many alphabet apps available, but this one offers your child something slightly different from the others.
Overall ... An original ABC app with unsual animals name to expand your Kids vocabaulary!
