Award-winning characters Beck and Bo are back with Avokiddo ABC Ride another outstanding fun end educational app from developer Avokiddo. This highly engaging alphabet app will have children repeating alliterations as they complete a variety of letter themed activities. With a focus on letter reinforcement and phonemic awareness, this one is a winner.
Avokiddo ABC Ride is a great app for children just learning the alphabet and beginning to associate letters and sounds. Join familiar characters from the award-winning app Beck and Bo as they explore the ABCs. In the locked parent section, adults can adjust the settings for uppercase or lowercase letters and letter name or phonics. Parents can also toggle the word spelling option, shuffling the letters, narration, and music.
Have a look:
After getting started, players place Beck or Bo on a bike, and pedal along the path to the first letter. Children hear an alliteration using the letter A and must acquire the apricots before the A appears to earn applause. Users move the character to catch the falling apricots. Once each piece of fruit has been caught, the A appears. Children then see the word apricot appear. The letters fall to the ground, and before moving on, users must place the letters back in word. When ready to move on, simply guide the bike to the next screen by riding along the path. Each letter has its own alliterative sentence and activity.
Parents and kids can choose to go through the letters in alphabetical order, or in a random selection. Players can also choose a specific letter to practice. The entire app is laid out on the bike trail with the users guiding the bike along the path to advance to the next letter.
What Fun Educational Apps Liked
Honestly, I've become picky in my alphabet app choices. There are so many out there, that it takes a special app to entice me to spend more than a few minutes checking it out. Avokiddo did this easily. Each of the games was different and I loved the alliterative directions. The puzzles were clever and reinforced the initial letter sounds. (E hatches from an egg and the H hides under a hat.) I also loved the bicycle ride. I thought that was a great way to veer from the traditional screen slide. Some of the activities were easier than others giving a chance for children to find easy success and slightly more challenging games. I also appreciated the option to choose capital or lowercase letters and phonics instead of letter names. My son is good with capital letters, I was looking for a little bit more to challenge him and this app delivered.
Overall, Avokiddo ABC Ride is a really great app for children learning the alphabet and beginning to associate letter sounds with words. It is a Top Pick for this mother of a preschooler. ABC Ride became a hit as soon as we jiggled the jelly!

“Our philosophy is that education should be more than teaching math and literacy. It should provide a challenging and stimulating environment where children obtain knowledge through active exploration and interaction. An environment where they can use their imagination to reveal their true inner self; a world infused with purity and creativity! We design our games with love and affection, truly believing in these principles.”
