Monsters Mixer by Ebooks&kids is a universal IOS app(iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch) that will be available for Android devices through Google Play by the end of the year.
Have a look:
Set against a backdrop of ghostly shadows and eerie music, the app provides your child with all the pieces necessary to create his own monster, including scary eyes, oversized noses, crooked teeth, spindly arms, and spiky horns. A basic set of creepy parts comes with the app; additional sets are available through in-app purchases (IAP). The steps for building the monster are intuitive and involve no reading. All that is required is pointing and swiping.
The part being selected (eyes, mouth, horns, etc.) blinks and bounces; touch the spot that is blinking, and all the selections appear on a spinning table. Your child chooses a part and drags it to the monster, then clicks either “OK” to move on, or “go back” to switch to a different piece. The best part is that there is no right way or wrong way to put together the monster. With all the available pieces, there are over a hundred possibilities.
All that hard work makes a monster hungry. The next step is to feed it from an assortment of disgusting delicacies, like fish heads, tentacles, moldy cheese, and tongue sandwich. Finally, your child gets to pick surprises boxes that cause weird things to happen (I don’t want to tell all the secrets, but one of them involves slime). After all that, Monsters Mixer lets your child take a picture of his monster, then magically superimposes your child’s face next to his monster’s. Children will compare their monsters to see whose is the scariest, the grossest, and the most amazing.
What Fun Educational Apps Liked-
Ebooks&kids has adapted its signature look (bold colors, excellent graphics, and clever animations) to give Monsters Mixer an authentic Halloween feel that is appropriate for younger children, up through age 8. Even after Halloween is over, there will be plenty of time to re-arrange all those pieces to make an even weirder or creepier monster. Overall, I think Monsters Mixer is scary-good fun for your children.
