Developer Big Heart Games has created a slightly addicting tap to count game with Cute Arcade. With an incredibly simple game-play, Cute Arcade has only two options. Counting Sheep and Falling Stars both have similar directions. Simply tap to count. With the soothing music playing in the background. These games are easy to unwind with.
Counting Sheep features two kids in bed and a variety of sheep dancing across the screen. Tap the sheep to count them. In addition, each sheep has a point value. Different color sheep are worth different points. Red, super-sheep fly quickly across the screen for 50 points. Grey sheep need to be double tapped to count. Black sheep change colors when tapped. In addition, the sheep get faster as the game continues. In regular mode, the children will wake up if you go too long without counting a sheep. In Zen mode, count sheep at whatever pace you want without waking the children.
Falling Stars is similar in game-play. Big stars fall from the sky and need to be tapped. Different color stars do different things. Green stars fade in and out, making them hard to see. Blue stars slow the fall of the stars while red stars speed everything up. In regular mode you only get to miss three stars before it's game over. In Zen mode, tap on falling stars without fear of missing a few.
What Fun Educational Apps Liked
This game is very simple, but surprising addicting. My three year old son loved it, because he loves most games that involve tapping things. But I also sat and played it for awhile long after my son went to bed. So I can safely say this game will appeal to any age level. The easy to follow directions and idea make this app easy for young players to use. I also like that it has regular mode (which is similar to a timed mode) and Zen mode (such a great name) which lets you play indefinitely.
Overall, this app is strangely addicting for any age level. I found myself continuously trying to beat my high score. Simple game play and directions make this tap to count game one the whole family can enjoy.
