From Fun Educational Apps Review:

Spider’s Lunch, by Bloomzoom, is available for the iPad.  It encourages beginning readers make that vital connection between seeing a word and hearing it.  Miss Caterpillar is the narrator and guide throughout the app.  Cheerfully, she explains each activity and offers feedback following each answer.  In Spider’s Lunch, the two target words are “can” and “not.”

Conclusion-

Building success in the earliest stages of reading development is crucial for further progress.  Spider’s Lunch uses a model of reading instruction that focuses on individual words, in this case, “can” and “not.”  One concern I have is that there are only two target words, and they contain different vowel sounds (short a and short o).  Current research recommends introducing only one vowel at a time to avoid confusion.  Another concern is the emphasis on spelling rather than phonemic awareness. The child learns to spell the target words, but never hears the sounds blended together.  I recommend you discuss the type of reading instruction currently used in your child’s classroom.  Ask the teacher if she thinks this “see and spell” method would be beneficial for your child as this app is quite highly priced!
