Toy and game apps are evolving and the new trend are board game and toys that integrate the use of apps .... At Fun Educational Apps, we always like to discover how developers are changing the way we interact with technology and we were very curious to see how these new "iToys" and" iGames" worked …. Must say that we had a great time and if you are still looking for great gift ideas for kids aged 9 to 12 ... read onto find out what we tried!
The first iGames we tried are from Hasbro - Monopoly zApped Edition and The Game of Life: zAPPed Edition for iPad, two timeless classic family board game. The games come in a box that contains the board, your pion and a magnetic card. There is no paper money, no cards ... No bits and pieces! Your iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch is the center of the game. To play, you will need to download the free app from the App Store on your iDevice. Place you device in the center of the board and follow the instruction on your device.... Simple, easy to set ...You are on for a great family game time!
What Fun Educational Liked
Playing the original Monopoly or The Game of Life on the traditional board we knew, playing these games only on the iDevice we also tried … These new zAPPed Edition are really cool. What we all liked is that you have the family feel where you all play together. No one hides behind their device or play solo, all players sit at the table as with the traditional game. The difference, for all transactions and challenges you need to use the magnetic card , instead of drawing a card, you now tap on your iDevice. Challenges are fun and interactive and presented as mini games where your reaction time will be challenged! Ok, some may argue that kids may loose the learning experience of counting the money ... But it is a game after all and a great time is also very important!
Overall, a great experience, lots of fun. These iGames simply give new interactive features and brings on some great fun! If you are ready to move to the interactive version of traditional games on the iPad or iPhone, then give t a try. It is fun and engaging. Highly recommend, ideal to play as a family, with friends or siblings. our kids loved the experience.... So if you are still looking for a great gift for Christmas, check it out.
