Tito and Anna on the farm - light is an interactive digital book for young readers. Follow friends Tito and Anna as they travel to Aunt Beth and Uncle Eric's farm. The story is fairly lengthy, making it appropriate for older readers as well as youngsters. Readers can choose to either read the story themselves, or have it read aloud.
Interact with each page of the story in different ways. Tap the screen to begin animations, find hidden objects, or manipulate small items. If readers struggle to figure out where the hidden objects are, simply tap the information button to have an illustrated guide as to where to tap. Touch the home button to return to the main menu, or tap the finger buttons to advance pages.
The light version of this app gives you the first five pages of the story for free. To unlock the rest of the story, an adult must purchase the rest of the story. At the time this review was written, the remainder of the story cost $3.99.
What Fun Educational Apps Liked
This app starts out with a cute concept. Children are easily engaged by stories of familiar things like trips to a farm. This experience is engaging and easy for children to identify with. The app is easy to navigate for young readers and has a nice option to have the story read aloud if needed. The small animations should keep children engaged and looking for more from each page of the story. By changing the animations to short games like find the hidden object, or putting the ducks back in the duck house, children experience a variety of fun.
Overall, this story has a cute concept that young readers will enjoy. With small animations, the interactive components don't take away from story itself, but do keep readers looking for more on each page.
