Educational Wooden Puzzle Collection is a puzzle collection of 78 different puzzles by developer A&R Entertainement. With a wide variety of puzzles and themes, this app has tons of activities for young learners. From the alphabet to numbers to animals, this app will keep kids busy.
As far as puzzle apps go, Educational Wooden Puzzle Collection has a wide variety of puzzles, with good graphics and easy navigation. Players choose to solve puzzles from six themes: letters, animals, circus, numbers, robots, or aliens. Each theme has more than 12 puzzles to complete. There are two formats of puzzles available - simple match the shape of the animal, number, letters, etc. or a more traditional puzzle with the pieces cut apart. Additionally, players can choose either easy or hard levels to play. The easy level puts the puzzle piece in place if it is simply dragged near the correct location. The hard setting has the player let go of the piece in the right area to place it correctly.
To add an educational component to the puzzles, the alphabet and number themes have puzzles that state each letter or number. Twelve of the letter puzzles are traditional piece type puzzles, the other puzzles have a set of four letters that players put in the right location. When letters are completed, the app reads the letters aloud. In the numbers section, the same is done with numbers 1-10, then 20-100 counting by tens. Each of these levels is available in English, Spanish, French, Italian, or German.
What Fun Educational Apps Liked
This app has really nice graphics and eye-catching colors. The app is really easy to navigate, making it an independent game for even the youngest of players. The high interest robots and aliens combine nicely with the more educational letters and numbers. By switching from traditional puzzle styles to the easier shaped puzzle pieces, the app keeps the player engaged. Players can track which puzzles they do on the main screen of each theme. Once a puzzle is complete, it is filled in on the main screen. Players can replay it at any time. This app has a wide variety of puzzles to complete, so kids can play this game without repeating a puzzle for quite some time.
Overall, this app is really easy to use and visually pleasing. The large number of puzzles keeps kids engaged for many sessions. The themes are well thought out and highly interesting to kids in the 2-6 range. My son has already played this app several times and continues to go back for more.
