Goodnight ABC: Must Have Learning Apps for Pre-schoolers!
If you are looking for a new preschool app to delight your child then this top pick is a must have. Goodnight ABC is an immense learning app from developer Quasar Alliance, Inc. Each letter of the alphabet features a corresponding animal in its own micro world. Hidden in each picture are tons of interactions, games, and learning opportunities. This app will provide hours of entertainment.
Goodnight ABC is a refreshing addition to the preschool app collection. Its depth is enormous and I still find myself discovering new interactions. The app opens to a screen displaying tiles for each letter of the alphabet. The game can be linear with arrows at the bottom of each letter page, but non-linear in that the player can return to this tile page to select any letter at any time.
Each letter page is a micro world featuring an animal that starts with that letter. The scene is a cohesive page filled with themed items. The M page shows a mole in a mining scene, the U page has an urchin relaxing in an underwater scene, and the X page has a doctor X-ray fish in his office. Each page is a unique environment full of things to discover. There are levers, switches, swinging tools, and lights galore to explore. It takes tapping on everything to find out what can be dragged, manipulated, turned on, or moved. There are mini-games hidden in some scenes, including counting and color identification.
In addition to all of the free exploration, players can tap the pencil to color the scene. There are no color choices, but several brush choices. Brush your finger across the scene to reveal the colors. There is a vocabulary identification game as well. Tap the graduation cap to access this feature. Tap on everything - literally everything - to hear it's name. This is a great vocabulary builder. Lastly, when the player is finished with the scene, drag the sun across the sky and make it night time. Say good night to the animal and move on to the next scene.
What Fun Educational Apps Liked (Loved!)
Goodnight ABC is one of the best preschool apps I've seen. It's extensive scenes and surprising animations will keep toddlers and preschoolers engaged for hours. Every time we open the app, my son or I find something new in scenes we've already explored. I love that the narrator subtly states the letter name, letter sound, and animal name when they are touched. While I know it's educational, my son just loves the fun of it all. The attention to detail in each themed scene is incredible. Each animal fits beautifully into the world and is surrounded by tools and items essential to that scene. On top of the gorgeous artwork and animations of the alphabet pages, there is even more to do. The vocabulary section is enormous, with literally every item labelled with both the written and verbal word when tapped. The sweet option of putting the animals to bed gives nice closure to each scene.
Overall, this app istop pick for Fun Educational Apps. The engaging game play is perfect for the toddler/preschool crowd. The alphabet practice and vocabulary building activities are ideal for these young minds. This app will give your child hours of exposure to an immense alphabet world.
