What Fun Educational Apps Liked:
First Words International HD is a great vocabulary app which offers many different options to suits various needs. It is well designed and easy to use. The three activities offer a great structure for learning and as parent or teacher you are able to record and track you kids progress.
The uses of pictures/images is great as it allows kids to see more that just one representation of an object. For example if your kids are learning the word cake, they will see 5 different ones on the same page. As you go over each word with them it gives you the opportunity to ask them question and show them various representation of the same object.
The other features we really like is the Say the Word activity. We think the idea of the kids saying and recording the word is cool, engaging and reinforces the learning process.
If you are raising your kids bilingual or simply want them to learn another language you can choose from seven different languages: English (American accent), Chinese, Spanish, Japanese, French, Hindi, and Russian! The use of visuals and repetition makes it easy for your kids to learn each word in any of the featured languages.
It would be great to be able to switch from one language to the other directly from the page without having to go back to the settings.
Overall First Words International HD is a great learning apps. Kids learn words by using visuals audio and repetition. Well structured it can help all toddlers as well as older kids with learning difficulties. We just hope more words will be added in the future!
