What Fun Educational Apps Liked
“My Sister’s Not Like Other Sisters” is a delightful storybook app with a great story about sibling rivalry. We liked the message where no matter how annoying a little one can be, there is always love and compassion.
The illustrations are stunning, crisp, bright and colourful. Each page offers engaging interactive features. Not to miss any, a light circle highlight so your kids know where to tap. Among the various interactive features, the kids at Fun Educational Apps really enjoyed the drawing page with coloured crayons, heart stamps, star stamps and eraser – Once your kids are finished, they can save their creation using the camera button at the bottom of the page… then, turn the page and make sure to check the drawing on the fridge … It’s you kids drawing!!! The kids here thought it was “cool” and loved it! The kids also enjoyed all the 2D animations throughout the app. They are top!
You can read 2 ways for a great reading experience:
“Read It To Me, Miss Nabee” mode narrates the story to the child. The narration is well done, clear and engaging. As the narration goes each word highlights to allow young reader to follow and improve reading.
“I’ll Read It Myself, Please” mode allows your child to read it out loud or you to read to your kids for a wonderful reading time! If you read this storybook app at bedtime, I am sure you and your kids will like the last page where you can switch off the light … to announce bedtime!
To help young children improve their reading skills, all words are playback buttons – so your child can tap on any word to listen to it. A nice option to support young readers with new or difficult words.
The only downside of the app is the navigation. Once in the story you can slide pages back and forth but there is no index. If you want to go to a specific page you will need to go through every page… Something that could be added in a future update!
Overall, “My Sister’s Not Like Other Sisters” is a top interaction-based Storytelling iPad book app. It presents a charming story about love / dislike sisters relation via stunning illustrations, engaging and easy to use interactive features. It is bright, colourful and will for sure get all your kids attention. It’s the first storybook app by Nabee Production and we are looking forward to more apps from them!
