The World of Dinosaurs is a mysterious world. Lots of information is available from story book to Encyclopedia as well as movies and documentaries. If you or your kids are passionate about these intriguing creatures we suggest you have a look at Inside the World of Dinosaurs™ a remarkable 3D interactive digital Encyclopedia using all the multimedia potential of the iPad. Going over the app you will discover all the dinosaurs that existed from Archeopteryx to Zuniceratops covering the Triassic, Jurassic, and Cretaceous periods.
All information is well organized and documented by numerous expert palaeontologists and all dinosaurs are explained through the era they are from: Triassic, Jurassic, or Cretaceous. To navigate the app, select which period you want to go over, listen to the wonderful narration and interact with the 3D models. In total you will be able to view:

What Fun Educational Apps Liked
At first, I need to admit that I am not so much into dinosaurs, I know the basics by reading storybook with the kids and never really opened an Encyclopedia or detailed scientific information about dinosaurs.... I was a bit apprehensive at first, 200 pages... But this app is so amazing that I just could stop!
The way it is designed leads you from one dinosaurs to the other telling you all about the different periods. It gives you a chance to go over the usual ones such as the Triceratops, Stegosaurus, and famous Tyrannosaurus Rex but also less well known such as the Lesothosaurus or Utahraptor and many more.
You can use the app in many different way, period by period, dinosaurs by dinosaurs, chronological order or not. It just offers an amazing source of information.
Thanks to world famous Steven Fry, the narration is excellent. He simply has the art and talent to tell and engage you through out the app... A total of over 5 hours of narration. Note if you do not want to use the naration, the text is a bit small and the black backgorund makes it hard to read.
Overall, inside Inside the World of Dinosaurs™ is a must have for all of you who want to know more about these fascinating creatures. It might not be well suited for the little ones as they will miss the bright and colourful illustration from a storybook app but ideal for all kids 10 and above.
This app is quite expensive for an app, but cheap compare to a full comprehensive illustrated book (without the 3D animation!)... Whether you are a palaeontologist, a school student, or a fan of ‘Jurassic Park’ or BBC’s ‘Walking with Dinosaurs’, this comprehensive and magical, virtual A to Z of dinosaurs encyclopedia will enthrall everyone of all ages!
