Today’s app review is about, Multiplication Tables, a math app from Esa Hellttula. As with all apps from the iDevBooks series, the emphasis is on learning without the distraction! Multiplication Tables app is impressive and offers a new and innovative concept whereby kids are encouraged to explore via visualization to help them understand multiplications and learn times tables.
Multiplication Tables math app is divided into 4 sections: Table – Group – Mulitples - Solves
Table
On this screen you will find an empty 10 X 10 multiplication table. Start by tapping on an empty space. The answer highlights. For example, If you want to know the answer for 6 X 8, tap on the empty spot and 48 dots will highlight and the right hand side will display the complete 8 time table.
Groups
With the group function, kids are able to visualize all the combination of factors for each number. For example, if you tap on the number 27, kids can find out all the combination that make 27 – (1 X 27 – 3 X 9 – 3 x 9). A great tool to help kids identify prime numbers!
Solve
The solve function is great for practice. Select a line of number or the complete table and watch all the numbers scramble and float to the right hand side. The goal is then easy … drag each numbers to its correct place. If correct the number will turn green and stay… if not it floats back to the side.
Multiples
If your kids or students are searching for multiples, then simply tap on a number and all its multiple will highlight. For example tap on 10 and 20,30,40,50,60,80,90 and 100 will highlight. You can have a the number display as a grid or as a spiral.

I teach special education in the elementary, as well as have a son with high functioning autism, so this would get a really good workout if I got it!!!!!

I teach Math interventions at my school to 3rd and 4th graders who lack early learning and number sense. This would visually help them succeed!

This is great! I have an ipad with no apps that was donated to my classroom. Unless I spend money on apps myself it will stay app free. I teach fourth grade in Albuquerque
