DoReMi 1-2-3 is a great musical app. Unlike other musical apps, it does not teach your kids how to read notes or music, instead it tells the kids: 'Use your ears to repeat the note.'
There are 2 ways to play with this musical app:
Fun learning - kids are invited to learn how to play 5 different nursery rhymes. Each song offers great visuals with beautiful drawing that illustrates the song. Notes are pictured by cute characters. Kids learn step by step and need to reproduce what they hear. The song is split in blocks and kids need to learn the first step before unlocking the next one. Each step is like a memory game of increasing difficulty. Listen, remember and reproduce.
Free play - kids can explore and experiment musical sounds. To start playing, kids need to choose a background and pick up a character to make music with. For example if your kids select the cow, a line of cows will display and each one represents the sound of a note. Children can then explore the sounds and listen to the cow. The activity expands with educational settings and kids can play with Moo moo sounds; notes with Do, Re, Mi…; Numbers 1,2,3 ...; or colours. Be creative and develop musical skills!

DoReMi 1-2-3 is a fun musical app, original, innovative and one of a kind. It offers an introduction to sound for kids to become familiar. The goal of the app is to explore and experiment with sounds rather than simply learning notes and music. It is very kids friendly and offers a very playful interface.
Fun Educational Apps favourite part is the Free Play. It allows kids to play around with sounds and provide a great educational opening by introducing colours and numbers. We especially liked the fact that when selecting colours, the characters become colourful, each one wearing a different colour. If you go for the numbers, each number is displayed. It allows kids to develop their listening skills and introduces bits of early education with numbers and colours!
Learning how to play a song can be challenging. The first steps are easy. Simply repeat what you ear. As kids progress it becomes more difficult and when the visuals goes away and you need to reproduce the sound just by listening … it can be quite challenging but is a great exercise that stimulates memory.
Overall, a really cool app. It is fun, original and innovative. It offers a different approach to music than most other musical app. We liked that it stimulates exploration and experimentation. The kids had a blast and decided to add it to Fun Educational Apps top picks
