Phonic Fun & Games has been design with your little ones in mind and give them a chance to learn independently via a fun and interactive interface. It offers 4 fun educational games to introduce and reinforce a number of critical language arts skills.
1. Phonics Cards: a great way to learn all the letters of the alphabet via the animated Scholarville characters. Kids learn letter recognition (upper and lower case) using visuals and audio where C is not pictured by the usual Cat but by “Carmen the cook, cooking carrot soup!”.
2. The Guessing Game: reinforces the learning of beginning sounds and develops vocabulary. Kids are given a set of 3 clues to a word and need to find it. To get the answer, simply flip the card. For each letter there are 5 words to discover.
3. Trace and Learn: teaches your kids how to proper trace letters. Kids use the interactive screen interface to connect the green star to the red star with their finger. Reinforces fine motor skills.
4. Matching and Memory game: after learning the letters, kids can now develop memory skills by playing a classic memory matching game. It offers unlimited play, as each time it’s a new combination.

It is easy to use and it teaches how to recognize upper and lower case letters using visuals and audio but goes one step further than most ABC apps. Each letter is a full learning package where your kids will learn the letter itself, its sound, several word starting with that letter using unusual and stunning flash cards. All cards offer great artistic design as well as creative sentences that contains words starting with that letter. Some or our favourites are :

“Harriet the hairdresser doing a hair style”,
“Maestro Max making music!”
Kids can then expand learning and use critical thinking by playing the Guessing Game. A fun educational game to get the kids thinking and reinforce their critical thinking skills. All clues are written and spoken, easy to understand. It stimulate kids imagination and expand their vocabulary. We like the fact that for each letter there are 5 words to discover.
After learning about a letter, finding words starting with that letter, kids can now learn how to trace it. A great activity that teaches kids letter formation. Tracing practice also reinforces fin motor skills.
Finally after all that fun learning kids can play a memory game that features all the letters. A great way to review the ABC.
