Parenting's Wendy's Giant List of Things To Do is a top fun, educational, engaging and interactive picture book app. It offers nice hand drawn illustrations and a unique reading experience. Most picture book app display the full page on screen, with Wendy's Giant List the page is larger than the iPad screen so your kids will be engaged as they will need to scroll the screen in order to discover the other part of the page.
It offers 2 reading options. “Read to me” and “I can read”. “Read to me” will let your kids go over the story and pages will turn automatically but does not really offer time to interact with the story. The “I can Read” is our favourite! It allows children to read, learn and interact. On each page kids are engaged and need to scroll the page to read further, tap on the text if they want it read to them, and tap on the object to see its name display or discover a cute animation or sound.
Note: each time your pre-schooler taps on the text, the app will read the text and each word will highlight a great feature to support word recognition.
Explore each page to discover animation, sound or words. The kids at Fun Educational Apps really like the hint option, which displays little heart on all interactive touch points. It gives hints to the kids so they don’t need to tap all over to try to find what is interactive or not. The little hears are integrated in the pictures so kids still need to look for them!
After reading Wend’s story, kids can also have fun playing the match-O-Rama memory game and review all the words card they have learnand found. Each card displays picture and name of object that were present in the story.
