Back to school is around the corner and Fun Educational Apps is now looking at great apps that will make a smooth transition. If you have been traveling in the United States recently or if you want your kids to learn about the shape and positions of all the US states, then Kids Maps is a must have!
Kids Maps is highly educational, kids friendly and extremely easy to use. On starting the app, kids will see an empty map of the United States. The bottom screen displays the shape of one state with its abbreviation.
Its name and one short fact are spoken. Simply drag the state to its correct position. Each time kids place the right State they get a rewarding message and are encouraged to discover a new one. You and your kids can choose to discover each state in alphabetical order or randomly simply tapping on the tap.
Kids will learn a quick fact about each state such as:
- Georgia produces juicy peaches,
- Polar bears live in Alaska,
- Hawaii is an island
- The Statue of Liberty is in New York.
Move on and place all the states.

Kids Maps is a top quality puzzle game app that let kids learn the shape and position of all the states via top interactive, kids’ friendly interface. It is engaging and stimulating and very easy to use. The use of bright colors helps children visualize the map and clearly identify each state. The music on the background makes it entertaining and can be turned off.
Many young kids might not know the position of each state to start with, but with Kids Maps they can simply hover over the map to find out. If they pass over the correct location, it will pick it up and position it.
Learning about the geography of the United States is fun and easy. Kids at Fun Educational Apps also really liked all the short facts about the US and learned some great info. The only suggestion we have is to add some type of separation to show that Hawaii and Alaska are located somewhere else.
Overall, Kids Maps is a brilliant interactive puzzle game app for iPad and Android devices which uses colorful artwork, voice, sound & animation to teach. Easy to use, kids’ friendly, educational and very well done. As you might have guessed, Kids Maps is joining Fun Educational list of favorite apps and we are looking forward to seeing more apps from Paul Ward, from Media Mechanics, a great dad that developed an amazing app for his daughter! His plan is to develop an entire series of maps (Europe, Africa, South America, Asia, etc.) in the near future.
