We at Fun Educational Apps always love book apps that encourages and stimulate kids reading experience. Book apps for kids are a great way to develop kids love for reading and today, we want to let you know about Apolline and Léon a top interactive and animated book app available in 9 languages.
Apolline and Léon are the main characters, two kids who are imaginative, smart and curious. Their first adventure takes place in the well known 'Jardin des Tuileries' in Paris. The kids are playing in the park and while observing what's hapening they get intrigued by an old woman who they think looks like a witch. Once the old lady leaves, she forgets her case and the 2 kids are right on it. What could you find in a witch case? Spiders and toads? or a strange coded notebook? Apolline and Léon are curious and need to find out. They both decide to investigate and secretly follow the old lady.
The adventure goes on and each page offers beautiful illustrations by Marion Piffaretti, a graduate from the ‘Emile Cohl’ art school in Lyon, France and also provides lots of interactions. Kids will need to look around and discover the various animations. Tilt the device on the first page and the clouds, boats and ball will move from left to right. Help the old lady feed the pigeons, have fun with the toads and spiders, play music, look through key holes, switch on and off the lights are only a few of the many interactions present in the app ... Each page has its own animation, all different and very well done.
This book app offers several reading options, "read to me" or "read by myself". The narration is professional but does not offer text higlight. The summary button allows you to easily go back to the page you want to revisit. The book app can be read in 9 different languages: English, French, Chinese, Japanese, Portuguese, German, Spanish, Italian and Russian.

Apolline and Léon is a top quality interactive and animated storybook app that offers a fun and fascinating story that captivated our kids. They loved the story and the many interactions that kept them engaged through out the book. We liked the bright and colorful illustrations with a feel of the classic storybook style, ideal for kids aged 3 to 8. The animations are great, engaging and top quality.
The kids favorites are the toads and spiders, the music note book where they had fun playing music, crossing the road where to stop the cars kids need to tap on the stop light and wait for the light to turn green. Children will need to look around to discover the animations but all are easy to find and use.
Overall, Apolline and Léon is a top quality storybook app. Avant-Goût Studios has done a wonderful job in managing to mix high tech and the traditional book feel, a book app that will encourage kids love for reading. In addition to the quality of the app, we really liked the message contained in the book, where you should not judge people just on apperance. A storybook app for kids that we highly recommend and as you might have guessed, Apolline and Léon is joining Fun Educational Apps list of favorite apps.
We are looking forward to the next adventures coming soon, where the children will be faced with a new mystery to solve at 'Deauville beach'.
