Math Ninja a math app that takes arithmetic math practice on the iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad to an adventure game level.
Many fun educational math apps offer flash cards as a basis to arithmetic reviews but Math Ninja goes beyond by offering a great concept that combines adventure game play and arithmetic practice. With Math Ninja additions, subtractions, multiplication and divisions are not a chore anymore but a fun way to progress into the game, a way to protect your treasure.
So what is Math Ninja all about:
You are Haruku, just an ordinary kid- except you're also a Math Ninja.
Your goal: protect your tree house against your worst enemy, Tomato-San and his robotic army.
As with any good fun educational adventure apps, the story begins when Tomato-San arrives to your tree house and claims that he has discovered your secret.
He knows why you are so good at math:
“Your are not a normal kid - You are a Math Ninja”.
“The source of your power is the treasure you are guarding.”
Tomato-San has come with his robotic army to steal your treasure. Show him who youy are, a real Math Ninja and defeat his army.
To defeat Tomato-San’s robotic army, you will need to tap your iPhone or iPad scrren to throw your weapons at Cat-bots, Dog-bots and many others. You will need to:
- Outsmart Tomato-San special army using your best weapon
- You will have to answer his “Wave of Answer”. Wave of answers are series of math questions you need to reply to.
- The final challenge of the chapter is to defeat Toamato-San with the Boost Wave Questions, another series of Math questions that will allow you to move to the next chapter.
The games goes on. Each battles earns you money and at the end of each chapter you will be able to use this money to upgrade your weapon. Choose wisely.
As a Math Ninja you need to use a combination of action, strategy and quick wit to defend your tree house.
Go on, give it a try. My 3 kids loved it from beginning to end and their comment for a Math App were:
“This is an amazing Game”
“It is Awesome”
“Is there a follow up to the story”
I honestly never had such comments from my kids for Math Apps.
