“I first started to develop math apps for iPhone when I could not find a column addition app for our daughter. I developed a column addition app myself (the app was called Column Addition) and got positive feedback for it. Then I developed Column Subtraction, Long Multiplication, Long Division and 10 other apps for alternative algorithms like Lattice Multiplication.
Learning the different algorithms can be tedious and my apps have been designed to make teaching them easier. My latest app – Fraction Math – is not about algorithms. It aims to teach how to add, subtract, divide and multiply fractions by letting the user actually solve different problems with the help of a contextual help system.”
